We like to keep our guests up-to-date about any activities or events that take place in here in our neck-of-the-woods. So we’re excited to tell you about, not one, but two awesome events in Torrey this upcoming week. If you happen to be in town, you should stop by – it’ll be worth your time.
Tour of Utah – The first event is the Tour of Utah bike race. The second stage finish line with be in Torrey, August 2nd – that’s this coming Tuesday. Race officials predict that the first racers with cross the line around 3:45pm, so plan accordingly.
The official website states the Tour of Utah showcase[s] some of the world’s most prestigious teams and cyclists for seven days in August, this event now attracts worldwide attention as the top international cycling event that follows the Tour de France. Nearly a decade since its opening circuit, the Tour of Utah, today, stands shoulder to shoulder with the most prestigious professional bicycle stage race events as our answer to the greatest cycling challenges the world has to offer. So it’s a pretty big deal.
World Renowned Classical Guitarist – On Friday, August 5th Legendary American guitarist Michael Chapdelaine will give a free concert in Torrey. Michael is the only guitarist to win First Prize in both Classical and Fingerstyle genres on a national level. He is also a professor of guitar at the University of New Mexico – so you can be pretty sure he’s amazing.
The concert kicks off at the Torrey School House at 7pm. Bring your own chairs. If you can’t catch him on Friday, he will also be playing in Escalante on the 4th and Boulder on the 6th. Check out Michael’s website here.
