It’s Christmas time! We at the Lodge love to celebrate the holiday season. It can be just as full of adventure as other times of the year. Here are our suggestions for a Merry Christmas here in Southern Utah.

Go Skiing – We have slopes here in Southern Utah too. Check out the two main ski resorts, Brain Head and Eagle Point. Eagle’s point has 40 ski and snowboard runs, a terrain park, and two tubing hills. Brain Head, which is slightly larger, has 65 ski and snowboard runs, two terrain parks, and a six-lane tubing park complete with lift service. Plus, Southern Utah has hundreds of miles of pristine forest, perfect for cross-country skiing.

Get a Tree – Discover the tradition of harvesting your own Christmas tree. With the right permit from the Forest Service, you can wonder through a winter wonderland to find your own perfect tree. And the cost of your permit helps fund the conservation and management of United States Forest land.

Go Ice Fishing – There is no reason to stop fishing just because it’s snowing. Head to the nearest frozen lake, set up a tent, drill a hole, and catch some dinner. With the right gear, and a good lakeside location, you can catch ‘em all year long. Fishlake, Otter Creek Reservoir, and Lower Bounds are some great places to ice-fish in Southern Utah.

Gather with Good Company – no matter where you are this year for Christmas, the most important thing is that you spend it with those you love. Our perfect Christmas is a crackling fire, a beautiful tree, and people to share it with. So gather with friends and family and celebrate good company.

Merry Christmas from all of us at the Lodge at Red River Ranch!
