Annual Events in Capitol Reef
Posted in: Travel on November 1, 2011.
The Capitol Reef area hosts many fun events each year. We at the Lodge at Red River Ranch encourage our guests to participate in these annual activities. To help you know what is happening and where, we’ve compiled a list of the top not-to-miss events.
Torrey Apple Days – Apple Days is the quintessence of a small town Independence Day celebration. Every year Torrey puts on a parade and sets up space for a flea market. Come check out the many artist and photographer booths, and bring back a memento from this 4th of July event.
Capitol Reef Classic – this bicycle route gains popularity every year. People come from all across the nation to race in the beauty of Capitol Reef. The Capitol Reef Classic has three different levels of competition that are open to all enthusiasts, including the famous 80-mile round trip route.
Bicknell International Film Festival – “Better living through bad cinema,” is the catch phrase of this fun, and crazy film festival. Every year Bicknell International Film Festival celebrates the best in mediocrity, screening “B” movies that have gained cult status. BIFF also has an independent film competition. This is, in all likelihood, the best film festival you’ve never heard of.
Women’s Red Rock Music Festival – this music festival kicks off in Torrey every summer. It’s all about empowering, and supporting, independent female musicians. Proceeds go to various charitable causes, all benefitting women. The Women’s Red Rock Music Festival is a great way to catch some good music and help someone out.
There are, of course, lots of other activities, festivals, and dinner events all located in the Capitol Reef area. We hope you’ll stop by and check them out. Talk to us for more specific information. Enjoy!
