The summer months in Southern Utah mean that you can have more fun in more ways. And one of the best ways to have fun in Southern Utah is playing in the water. There are many, many great lakes that you can go to in Southern Utah. But for those who want to make a quick trip from Salt Lake, consider going to Yuba Lake State Park.
Yuba Lake State Park is, of course, home to Yuba Lake. The lake itself is perfect for all types of recreational water sports. Bring your personal watercraft, speedboats, waterskies, or wakeboards. For those that prefer to fish, you can expect to find walleye, rainbow trout, catfish and northern pike in Yuba Lake. Besides the obvious watersports, Yuba boasts sandy beaches, which are perfect for sunbathing, playing beach volleyball, and having all sorts of fun. Yuba Lake State Park also has an extensive system of ATV trails for you to explore.
Yuba Lake is located about 20 miles south of Nephi, off I-15. Yuba Lake State Park charges a nominal fee of seven dollars for a day pass. This price includes boat-launching costs. There are several developed campsites in Yuba Park. Both RV and tent camping are accommodated and hook-ups are available. Beachside camping is also available and can be reserved ahead of time.
Yuba is open all year round, which means you can Jet Ski in the summer and ice fish in the winter.
We at the Lodge at Red River Ranch want to encourage you to check out some lakes this summer. If you live in the Salt Lake area, Yuba Lake is a good place to start your tour of Southern Utah lakes.
