Stones of Praise
Posted in: Lodge Announcements on January 5, 2014.
During the course of this blog, we have often exbounded on the beauties of the national parks of Southern Utah. We have written about visiting them in spring, summer, fall and winter. We have suggested itineraries to make your vacation even better. We have told you about the secret places that few people ever visit, and about the popular crowd-pleasers. We have tried to be your vitural guide to a place of spectacular beauty. And most importantly, we at the Lodge at Red River Ranch, have tried to be the hosts you deserve.
As we begin this new year together, we hope to continue to bring you excellant service and quality advice. To commemorate our commitment to you, our loyal guests, we have posted this poem – left by one of our visitors. We think it captures our complex feeling about Southern Utah – the best spot on earth.
Traipse with me in the land of desert and storm
one leg dragging – longing to see the seen
one leg pulling – gasping to see the new.
Born of sweat, pink skin peeling to reveal,
torn from the womb of the earth,
the place where I belong.
The place I long to die.
And I cry stones of praise.
We hope that you will take the chance to come to Southern Utah this year, and feel for yourself the compelling, stunning force of the desert. And maybe, cry some “stones of praise” yourself. We hope to see you here.
