Spring is practically here in Southern Utah, with temperatures reaching 60 degrees in Capitol Reef this week. If you’re like us, this is really good news. But, here’s the thing, we aren’t quite ready to give up on our favorite winter pastime – skiing. And fortunately we don’t have to (yet.) There’s still plenty of snow at both Eagle Point and Brian Head ski resorts.
So we at the Lodge at Red River Ranch thought we should give you some information about these resorts – Brian Head and Eagle Point – to help get you motivated to hit the slopes for some spring skiing.
Eagle’s Point – Eagle’s Point is located near Beaver, Utah. They have about 40 ski and snowboard runs, with 45% classified as advanced/expert. They also have a terrain park and two tubing hills. You can check out the trail map here. Lift tickets begin at $54, but you can sometimes find deals on their website.
Brian Head – Brian Head is located outside Parowan (near Cedar City.) And they have 65 ski and snowboard runs, with 30% in the advanced/expert category. In addition, Brian Head has a six-lane tubing park, with its own lift service. They also have a two terrain parks. You can check their trail map here.
There regular lift ticket price is $60, but you can see all their options here.
In some ways this is the best time of year to go skiing. You can spend one day on the slopes of Brian Head, and spend the next day in shorts and a tee shirt in Zion National Park.
